She loves her grill!

Hello Everyone!
Just got back from shopping with my Mom on Collins Ave. in Miami and got some really cute stuff! I think my favorite things to shop for are accessories - I LOVE bags and belts, but I think my absolute favorite and unique accessory is my grill! Paul Wall made it for me as a gift before we shot the video for "About Us" in LA. A lot of people don't understand how I got hooked up with Paul Wall, but it's actually a really funny story. I was recording at The Hit Factory in Miami with my dad and Scott Storch one night when Paul walked in. He had been recording next door and heard that Hulk Hogan was in the studio and since Paul is a big Hulkamaniac, he wanted to come meet him. When Paul walked through the door and heard my track he was like, "dude who is this? I wanna be on this track." When my dad said it was his daughter, Paul whipped out his sidekick right there and starting writing away. It was CRAZY!

Since then Paul and I have become great friends. He's an amazing guy and has been helping me out so much with the transition into the music industry. He even supported me when we were up against each other at the Teen Choice Awards for Choice Grill. I was nominated with all these guys like Paul, Nelly, Flavor Flav, Kelis and Mike Jones — I'm pretty sure people thought it was a joke (lol)! But apparently I wear them well because I won the award!! I was so excited about it — this award was actually my first, which made it even more special to me! So strange to think that last year I was on stage at Teen Choice presenting an award with my dad and this year I was up there all by myself, accepting my very own surfboard!! Maybe next year you'll see me performing on that stage. :)

Since I know a lot of people have been skeptical about my grillz, let me give you the real scoop. I don't wear them because I want to be a hard-core rapper or anything. I wear them because they were a gift from Paul Wall and I think they're fun. I don't even wear them all the time — actually, the funny thing is that now I have braces behind my teeth and so the grillz don't even fit anymore! I definitely need Paul to make me another set! I think that doing what you want regardless of what people think is important — I know this is really corny, but my dad use to read Dr. Seuss to me when I was little and I've always remembered this quote, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." Remembering that is very important!
