adrian's cause
Hello!
I've been waiting to get back to you with another blog, and now I have my chance. I'm glad everybody has been reading and commenting and I wanted to take a few moments in this blog to answer some of your comments and questions from my first entry.
Q. How did you get started acting?
A. Since childhood, I have always been fascinated with movies and acting and the entertainment industry as a whole. I always wanted to pursue an acting career, however being from a tiny little country (El Salvador) it was only a dream. I never thought I would be given the opportunity, much less the blessing of working on a soap opera with wonderful people. When you start out, you are really out here just looking for a job, whether it is a role in a movie or on a TV show. Working on a soap opera is great though! It is my first job, it is very steady, and great training. I honestly don't think there is a better place to start. Where I'll be in a couple years? Just gonna have to jump on the ride with me!
I have to give a shout out to my girl QUA who along with NANA runs my fan site. I don't know where they get all these pictures and info, but I give them props. They do a wonderful job. Chat, join the fan club, look at pictures, whatever you want, get over there and check it out Go! Right now!! What are you waiting for! Check it out!
"Passions" was on hiatus for the July 4th holiday and I had a lot of time to catch up on sleep, run errands, and also do some work. One project I have been working on that is very important to me (and to others!) is a charity organization called PADRES Contra El Cancer I have been planning an event that will hopefully raise some money to help children diagnosed with cancer. PADRES is an organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children and their families. The organization brings together children, families, healthcare professionals and community leaders to promote a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders, as well as effective methods for their treatment. For more than 20 years, PADRES Contra El Cancer has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families by offering educational, emotional and programmatic resources to assist families undergoing one of life's most trying experiences - the diagnosis of a child with cancer.
I was very lucky to be introduced to Michael Velazquez (PADRES CEO) at the ALMA awards. And was immediately drawn to his spirit and passion. This is where it all began for me. I was first introduced to cancer when my cousin was diagnosed with it at a very young age. I witnessed first hand what cancer could do to a young boy and to our family as a whole. So I decided to become a little more involved with PADRES, which led to "Celebrities Spike for PADRES."
"Celebrities Spike for PADRES" is a charity beach volleyball tournament that will be held on October 7, 2006 at the Santa Monica Beach volleyball courts at 2:00 pm. My goal, and the goal of this event, is to raise money and media exposure for PADRES on behalf of the children and families they serve. We are gathering celebrities from film, TV, Soaps, as well as athletes and musicians to form teams of six people to play against each other. And more importantly, we are trying to gather YOU to come out and support PADRES and your celebrities. If you live in the Los Angeles area, I encourage you to join my friends and me and be a part of this wonderful event.
Registration forms and more information (list of celebs attending, directions, sponsors, etc) can be found at www.iamhope.org, www.adrianbellani.com, or www.adrianbellani.net. If you don't see anything yet, please check back. We are in the process of uploading all the information. You can also contact me via email at: spikeforpadres@hotmail.com or my publicist Cindy at: collinspr@aol.com. Look forward to hearing back from you guys and I'll try to reply to your comments in a timely manner.
"Where there is Life, there is always Hope!"
Ciao
Adrian
