a film festival, heat wave, sea lions = one crazy weekend!

What's up my Internet buddies? I am so glad you guys are reading my blog. Although I must say that I have read Mark's blogs and they seem a little more interesting than mine. Mark is quite the talker. What a character! I mean, I have never met anyone like him. You could put this guy in a room by himself with nothing in it and he will find something to distract himself. That's just the type of guy he is. HAHA. Hopefully he'll read this and give his rebuttal in his next blog.

I wish I had a picture to share of all the silly stuff he does. I'll try to get one for ya. I'm very fortunate to work with Mark, in fact, we started on "Passions" on the exact same day! Although we grew up in different parts of the world, we were raised in very similar ways. We have a lot in common too in regards to our acting experience. We both were in LA about a year before we booked "Passions," we work the same storyline (basically share the same girl) AND we share a dressing room. So every time I'm working, he's working. We've built a friendship really quickly. Cheers out to my homie Mark and the many years to come my brotha.

How are my cyber fans doing? I really like this whole blog thing. I didn't even know what it was until I signed on to do this. I promise that when my website launches, I will blog on there for all of you.

I had a pretty crazy weekend. You remember the charity I work with (PADRES)? I went on a trip with some of the kids they work with. They are all in the picture that I've posted along with this entry and most of them are cancer survivors - some are still undergoing treatment. To make a long story short, we hooked up the ELEVATE Film Festival with PADRES to do a documentary on children with cancer. Elevate is a festival where the directors have 48 hours to put together a short documentary, narrative, or music video. They do not know what their project is until the pick randomly out of a hat. Once they know what they are doing they have exactly 48 hours to shoot it, edit it, cut it, produce it, compose music, and submit it. CRAZY to even think how they did it. For the documentary, we took the kids out on a boat trip for about 3 hours with some amazing musicians. Most of the kids had never been on a boat and some don't even get to leave their hospital room. It was very nice to see their smiling faces. We actually got to see a bunch of sea lions, which they loved. I'm sure it was a day they will never forget. This is the second blog I've written about PADRES, but I take a lot of pride in the work I do for the children. And it is a way of giving back all the blessings God has given me. I have been very fortunate my entire life and every child deserves to be happy. That's why I write about it, and that's why I am so involved.

We also had a NBC All-Star press party this weekend. It was a great event. Could have been even better if it wasn't 115 degrees outside! Have you guys heard how unusually hot it's been in LA lately? It's record breaking. Anyway, stars from just about any NBC show you can think of were there. And all the new fall shows too. I got to meet some of the cast members from "Friday Night Lights" and "Heroes," among many others. But I also had the opportunity to hang out with Galen (Luis) and Emily (Fancy). We really never get to hang out with each other outside the set, so this was really fun. Everyone thinks that just because were on the same show, we get to hang out a lot, but sometimes we don't even see each other (I guess because our storylines are so different and we're all in at different times of the day).

Well that's it for now!
Hope to get tons of comments from you all!
Adrian

FYI. MARK, HEIDI, and I, will be making a personal appearance at the Bakersfield, CA Convention Center on September 9. If any of you live in that area, come meet us! Admission is FREE. Would love to see you there!
