health tips from daniel!
After seeing the first few episodes of Season 6, I realized I had to get back into shape! I spent a fair amount of time relaxing and, well, being lazy during the summer so it was time for a crash course.
I've spent a lot of time learning about health and dieting. People always think that eating less will make you skinny and eating more makes you fat. This isn't always the case. 70% of it is what you eat and when you eat it, the other 30% is your exercise routine. It's important to eat smaller meals more often than a couple big ones throughout the day. If you are going to eat a lot of carbs, eat them in the morning, that way your body has all day to burn them. When I wakeup I usually have eggs and toast. Then about an hour and a half later I'll have some oatmeal with a sandwich and some salad or an apple and head to the gym.
I'll be in the gym for no more than an hour and a half and this includes: 10 minutes warming up on a bike, stretching, my weight routine, I'll focus on 2-3 bodyparts, i.e. chest, tricepts, abs, or back, bicepts, torso etc. Then after my weight routine I always do 15-20 minutes cardio, which I hate because I am by nature lazy. Immediately after working out you must eat!!! Something with protein, carbs and yes, fat. Your body is depleted of all of these nutrients and you need them back, fat is needed for joint lubrication and proper brain function, and face it, you need carbs to live. Now, what to eat? Well try and stay away from processed sugar, saturated fats, anything fried, and here's the real killer, milk. I'm not even kidding. The difference between eating dairy and not is night and day. Whenever you eat make your meals balanced, you need equal portions of protein, carbs and fat. If you just eat an apple or something without a source of protein you will spike your insulin levels and knock off this balance that is your body. Keep these tips in mind and that's about it. That being said, it's time for me to eat and head to the gym, then I have a rehearsal for the next episode of degrassi DNG!
Talk soon,
Daniel.
