HOW DID YOU GET YOUR BAND NAME?
Prima in Spanish means “cousin.” We’re cousins. Our dads are brothers. We’re Jessica and Janelle, so we added the J.
WHAT MADE YOU GUYS DECIDE TO STAY A DUO INSTEAD OF RECRUITING OTHER GIRLS FOR A GROUP?
We were in groups before, and every time, for some reason, it just never worked. One of the girls always ended up saying, “I don’t want to do this anymore.” We just always stuck together. We’re cousins, so we know we can count on each other.
WHEN YOU GUYS WERE SOLELY DANCERS, WHO DID YOU DANCE FOR?
We went on tour with an artist, Nikki Flores, who was on Epic. We did little dance shows and some TV shows, one for Daddy Yankee — a big Spanish awards show.
