It's true that I got into acting because my family was broke, but that kid wasn't ever really a friend. He was almost the enemy. He'd always have the new velcro sneakers that lit up or the new Sega Genesis, and I was a broke kid with a hand-me-down surfboard who was getting on the bus. So I was superjealous. But he did sort of inspire me to act. I think envy motivates a lot of people.

Extremely. Lately [the biggest adventures I've been on are] doing these [action] movies. Every time you make a movie it's an adventure. They're not walks through parks, and they're not always as structured as Indy was. Transformers was not a structured thing. It's not like you know what you’re doing when you wake up. You could wake up, and the director could say, "You're running through that mine field, and it's live. So make sure you don’t blow your leg off." That’s adventurous. Right after I finish the movie I'm filming now [Eagle Eye], I'm going on a road trip. It's something I've always wanted to do. I'm a huge Neal Cassady fan, and it's something he did.
