My mom is at my house every day, and she nags me about everything, especially hygiene. She's big on cleanliness and my diet. She doesn't like junk food!
WHAT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION FOR YOU?
The hardest thing in acting is going from child actor to adult actor. It's taken me a long time. I'll always be known as Louis Stevens from Even Stevens, just like Robin Williams is always going to be Mork [from Mork & Mindy]. Everybody's got a start mark, and I'm not ashamed of mine at all. It got me an Emmy! Plus, I got to do things that every 12-year-old wanted to do. People were going to geometry class and I was swimming through vats of chili on Even Stevens. It was like a dream!
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE HOBBIES?
I've always wanted to surf, but I was never really good at it. That takes a lot of dedication. Golfing is more up my alley. I try to go once a week if I'm home.
WHAT MAKES REAL-LIFE RELATIONSHIPS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ON-SCREEN ROMANCES?
They're real! A relationship to me is never about the romance. [My girlfriend and I] are best friends and if you don't have that, then there's no point because the kissing thing gets old after a while.
WAS YOUR FIRST KISS AN ON-SCREEN KISS?
No, definitely not. It was with this girl named Sandra who went to my school when I was 7 or 8. My friends set up a fake little marriage with Ring Pops. So lame! I've been married to Sandra my whole life at this point!
