When I was in the 10th grade, I got transferred to Matt's [McGinley, GCH's drummer] gym class, and we found out that we were both drummers — at the time, I was the drummer in another punk band. We just united in gym class and would talk about our favorite drummers and music in general. Then, we ended up playing a mutual friend’s birthday party. We didn’t have a singer, so I stepped up to the mic, and we’ve been playing together ever since!

I’ve always been a big art fan. When I was little, I would draw all the time, and my dad would encourage me, but he’d always be like, “You better not be tracing!” It was cool, though, because I was trained to draw things the way I see them and not cheat. I also had an uncle who got me into graffiti and comic books, and I went on to be a tattoo artist for seven years, and go to art school at Munson-Williams-Proctor for a couple years. I’m still always working on my art as a side project.
