zac on dating & dancing
CG! gets one on one with Zac Efron!

With a starring role in the upcoming film version of Hairspray, along with his hit movie, High School Musical, premiering all across the globe, Zac Efron doesn't have much free time on his hands. But even with his busy schedule, the rising star took some time to sit down with CG!'s Michelle Lee Ribeiro in London to dish on dating, dancing and his new famous friend!

EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT YOUR ONSCREEN CHEMISTRY WITH VANESSA HUDGENS. DO YOU BELIEVE IN THAT KIND OF CHEMISTRY - LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?

Well, love at first sight...I don't know. But of course I believe in two people having chemistry right away. I connect with people on a daily basis.

IF YOU LIKE A GIRL, WHAT'S YOUR IDEA OF THE PERFECT DATE?

Honestly, I really don't remember ever being in a situation where I was like, "I like this girl and I need to take her out on a date," and then sitting down and planning what to do. It's usually more like we're talking on the phone and I'm like, "Do you want to hang out?" And then we're just hanging out. I'm not sitting there thinking, "Now we're on a date," you know? We're just hanging out.

YOU'RE SHOOTING HAIRSPRAY NOW. HOW'S THAT GOING?

It's going great. We've only been shooting for a couple of weeks and I love it. I have a scene with John Travolta and I can't wait! I get to do this dance with Michelle Pfeiffer where I catch her. It's cool.

WERE YOU NERVOUS ABOUT DOING HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL AT FIRST?

Well, all the dancing threw me off a bit. I'm not really the best dancer!

DO YOUR FRIENDS MAKE FUN OF YOU FOR YOUR DANCING IN HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL?

Yeah, they definitely do. But I just shut them up.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR IDEAL FILM ROLE?

I love action-adventure-type films - mythical adventures like Lord of the Rings or superhero films like Batman.

SO YOU'D PLAY BATMAN IF THEY ASKED YOU?

I'd definitely take that! Though I'm not sure I'd fit in the suit - I'm only 5'8"!

ARE YOU A BIG FAN OF COMICS?

I love them. Spider-Man's probably my favorite. You see, Batman is a billionaire and there's nothing really cool about a billionaire saving the world. But Spider-Man is Peter Parker, a conflicted character who puts on a suit and saves the world. I love that. I'd love to play Spidey - but Tobey [Maguire] beat me out. I'm just kidding - I never auditioned for Spider-Man.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR STYLE HAS CHANGED SINCE YOU'VE BECOME SUCH A HUGE STAR?

It hasn't. I've always cared about fashion and what I look like. I don't like to spend a lot of money on designer clothes, but I do like to look good.

IS THERE ANYONE YOU USED TO LOOK UP TO WHO YOU'VE NOW BECOME FRIENDS WITH BECAUSE OF YOUR FAME?

Yeah, Amanda Bynes. We've become pretty close since working on Hairspray, and it's so weird because I grew up watching her. Sometimes even now we'll be sitting there and I can't help thinking all of a sudden, "A-MAN-DA BYNES."
