On a budget? These earrings are cheap, easy to make, and pretty too!
What you need:
1 1/2 feet of thin, silver-colored chain
6 silver-colored charms of your choice
2 French hook earrings
8 silver jump rings
Pair of jewelry scissors
Pair of jewelry pliers
Measuring tape
Where to get it:
Jewelry and metal suppliers, like New York City's Metalliferous, will have the supplies you need.
Instructions:
1. Cut the silver chain into six segments: two 1-inch pieces, two 2-inch pieces, and two 3-inch pieces.
2. Open up a jump ring with your pliers and slide the loop of the charm onto the ring. Then, slide the end of one of your pieces of chain onto the ring. Close the ring with your pliers. Do the same thing with all of the charms and pieces of chain. In the end, you'll have six lengths of chain with a charm at the end of each.
3. Open up a jump ring and slide a 3-inch chain, a 2-inch chain, and a 1-inch chain onto it. Make sure to follow the order it should cascade from shortest to longest. Repeat with the other jump ring and pieces of chain.
4. Slide the completed jump rings into the loops of the French hooks. Close the jump rings and rock your new (cheap!) pair of earrings.
