Lately, I got a bit jealous of the kids who play spring sports because they get in the best shape right before prom! So, Ive gotten into a health kick. I'm not trying to necessarily lose weight I just want to get healthy.
Ive started to do hot yoga, as in the room heats up to about 80 degrees! Its an hour and a half of constant stretching and toning. Fifteen minutes into it, though, I sometimes regret going because it's so hot! I always stick it out for the full ninety minutes, and then I realize how good I feel. Im becoming more flexible and developing better balance. The only downside is how sore I am the next day, but thats how I know its working!
I also started to run. I dread thinking about doing it, but once I start, I actually enjoy it. I love discovering all the songs I forgot were on my iPod (and realize Im still not over how great the Backstreet Boys truly are).
I'm eating healthier, too. I gave up pizza and bagels for lunch and instead eat yogurt with apples and nuts. It hasnt been a pain because I let myself indulge once in a while (I might give in to the chocolate ice cream cravings soon)! Im not letting myself go crazy over food Im just thinking before I eat.
Since I started all this, I feel better than ever! Prom has been the perfect reason to get myself back on the healthy track, and I am loving it.
