the date and the dress

This past week, prom talk has shifted from the plans to the two “D” words, dresses and dates. As for me, I have neither!

I know some girls who have gone out and bought dresses, some that have gone looking, but came up short and some like me haven’t even started the hunt. I know what I want — I just have to go out and find it. I’m confident though because I’m a quick shopper. And I’ve been thinking about getting one made for me since I know what I want in my head. The cost is pretty much the same and it will surely scream, “This is my dress.” I’m making sure I have my dress two months before, sounds good, right?

As for the second “D” word (date), right now I don’t have one, and I’m not quite sure how to go about this situation. What if someone is slow in asking? When is it the time to call my out of town back-up date? And what are the rules with a back-up date? I know I’ll go with someone, and having my backup go with me is totally cool. I’m stressing out a bit not knowing who I’m going with to the prom.

So, how are the two “D” words treating you these days?

Xoxo,
Shelley
