prom detail drama

Some people think the theme of the prom is everything. Personally, I think it’s pretty low on the list of things to worry about. My school is freaking out. They want to make it "Decades" and have different pieces from different times in history. There would be a 50's diner, 70's disco ball, and things like that. I don't love it, but I don't hate it. I just think it’s funny that kids are getting so crazed about it. There was even a petition with 250 signatures. I signed it, but thinking back — who cares? At the end of the day, they're just decorations on the cafeteria wall. Maybe this is all a part of senioritis — we are supposed to freak out about prom. It’s the next thing on the list to worry about, since college applications are finished. In ten years, I doubt I’ll remember the theme at all. Instead, I’ll look at the pictures and notice how young we looked, the dress I wore and try to remember the name of my date.

When people aren’t worrying about the theme, they're worrying about the transportation and the after prom scenario. My friends are so organized, so we already have plans. We are going with the party bus idea and there are 23 of us (not including dates)! After, we will be heading to Montauk and relaxing on the beach. Then, off to graduation!
