“I wanted a differ- ent look, so I cut my hair and used new makeup I got for Christmas. I was excited and put on a lot of black eyeliner— I looked hot! But the next day, I woke up with my eyes swollen and red! I’d washed off the eyeliner, but I had a bad reac- tion to it anyway. I got medicine for it, but my eyes were still puffy a few days later when my boyfriend and my dad’s friends came to my house to watch football. They all laughed at me!”
