Now normally every week I do my fashion blog, but due to recent events in my life I feel there is something I need to gripe about. Ever since high school I have always been friends with mostly boys. I have my few close girlfriends, but my guy friends are like brothers to me. I’ve always been known to be one of the guys even though I’m so far from being a tom-boy. Regardless, 5 ½ years ago, my now ex-boyfriend and I began dating. He knew coming into the relationship that I’m friends with a lot of guys. In the beginning it never really seemed to bother him. He never showed his jealousy until we went to college when I met a whole new group of friends, some girls and of course boys. They are just easier to get along with, not that I should have to justify to a boyfriend who my friends are especially when I knew he was meeting new people as well. However, little by little the insecurities began to surface.

He had every right to ask who my new friends were, but after a while we begin to bicker about it, and then bickering turned into fighting, and of course fighting turned in to full blown arguments that lasted a few days. We would eventually make up, but it just seemed to be like a vicious cycle especially when I transferred schools and the one friend I had coming to my new college was a guy. His jealousy became so suffocating that I had to tiptoe around who I hung out with when I wasn’t with him. We eventually broke up for reasons besides this. I do love him, he was my first serious relationship, but after a while I just couldn’t handle not being trusted anymore because he couldn’t handle my friends.

Do you think all guys can’t handle a girl who hangs out with guys?
