SCENARIO 1: HE’S IN CONSTANT E-CONTACT WITH A GIRL FROM MYSPACE
IT’S FINE IF: They share a mutual hobby or interest, like they’re both in a band or members of a club devoted to indie graphic novels.
IT COULD BE CHEATING IF: He hides her from you, like if he hits Sleep when you see her page up, or he gets weird and vague when you ask who she is.

SCENARIO 2: HE DANCES WITH ANOTHER GIRL AT A SWEET SIXTEEN YOU WEREN’T AT
IT’S FINE IF: You were invited to the party but couldn’t go. If he loves to dance, you can’t expect him to hang out by the snack table all night!
IT COULD BE CHEATING IF: You weren’t invited or he lied about going. Neither are definites, but if he’s keeping you in the dark, you’re right to question it.

SCENARIO 3: HE GOES OUT TO GET PIZZA WITH A FEMALE FRIEND
IT’S FINE IF: She was his friend before you met. Maybe he needs her to advise him on, say, gifts for you! Sometimes pizza is just pizza, nothing more.
IT COULD BE CHEATING IF: They just became friends and they’re suddenly together all the time. Guys who have a girlfriend don’t need close new girl friends.

SCENARIO 4: HE AND SOME GIRL WERE CAUGHT KISSING
IT’S FINE IF: Actually, it’s never fine. But if the girl jumped him and he didn’t kiss back, and he admits it when you ask, let him try to make it up to you.
IT COULD BE CHEATING IF: He gets defensive when you ask about it or he blames alcohol—which is just an excuse to do what he wanted to do anyway.

BOTTOM LINE: It’s good to be trusting of your guy, but don’t ignore your inner voice. If you have a nagging feeling that he’s not being true to you, ask him if something’s up.
