"After spending summer break with my girlfriend in her hometown, I was on cloud nine and excited to continue our relationship the next semester. But when I got home I found out my family was moving to Dubai for several months. My dad had to work there and my parents insisted I take a semester off and go with them. My girlfriend and I were heartbroken, especially when we realized how many firsts we'd miss out on — our first New Year's, Valentine's Day, and both of our birthdays — but there was nothing we could do. The night before I left, I snuck out of the house so we could spend our last night together. We couldn't sleep — we just lay in her bed wide awake and tried to cherish our last moments together. When we both started to cry, she told me that I'd always be in her heart. She kept reassuring me that she would remain faithful and that I'd still have a girlfriend when I came back, no matter how long it took.
