Before you start pursuing a career as a vet, consider the goodand the bad.
PROS: There are tons of job optionsbesides working in a private practice, you could get a job with the U.S. Department of Agriculture making sure animals don't bring new diseases into the country, at a zoo or an aquarium, or even in sports medicine working with racehorses or greyhounds.
CONS: Be prepared for years of school, getting bitten or scratched, dealing with human owners when they're upset, and having to put animals to sleep.
