By Michelle Lee Ribeiro
Be A Veterinarian!

1. Do you love being around animals?
2. Do you do well in science classes like biology?
3. Are you okay with stuff that makes some people queasy, like needles and blood?

If you said yes to all of these, you could have a future career as a veterinarian. Read on for more!

WILL YOU LIKE IT?
Before you start pursuing a career as a vet, consider the good—and the bad.
PROS: There are tons of job options—besides working in a private practice, you could get a job with the U.S. Department of Agriculture making sure animals don't bring new diseases into the country, at a zoo or an aquarium, or even in sports medicine working with racehorses or greyhounds.
CONS: Be prepared for years of school, getting bitten or scratched, dealing with human owners when they're upset, and having to put animals to sleep.
