more cardio ideas
Check out these cardio exercises that you can do as part of the CosmoGIRL! Body & Soul Challenge.
BY ARIANA FINLAYSON

1. Volunteer to take a brisk walk or play outside with a younger sibling or cousin. Quality family time + the outdoors = a happy, healthy body and mind!

2. Visit your local library and check out a few cardio and dance DVDs. Since they’re free, you can take new DVDs out each week so you don’t get bored!

3. Make a racquet! Head to a local tennis court and play a game of tennis with a friend.

4. Grab a bunch of friends for a round of laser tag or paintball. Visit lasertag.org/where/usa.html or paintball.com/fields for locations near you.

5. If there’s a beach or lake near you, jog or walk on the loose pebbles or sand. Your leg muscles have to work harder than they do when you’re walking or jogging on a hard surface.

6. Download a Podcast workout to your iPod. Open iTunes, and search “fitness” under “Podcasts.” Subscriptions are free, so you can try a bunch of programs!

7. Want to spice up your workouts? Learn to salsa dance with a fitness DVD (try Dance off the Inches: Sizzling Salsa, $14, amazon.com)

8. Hit the local roller-skating rink for a night out with the girls. You can scope out the hotties while working up a sweat!
