world issues
Hey all!
This is my last blog!!! It will act as a highlighter for you to see what's going on in this world and mine.
First off, what's going on in the Middle East right now is very important for the entire world. The repercussions from this will reach into our everyday lives. I am not giving my opinions on the conflict, not choosing sides, not on this platform. My point in writing about this is that it is important that the youth of America familiarize themselves with the scenarios that are causing these conflicts.
Getting to know what these cultures are really like will help you to understand what the people are really like. And here is the important part -.the people in the Middle East whether Jewish, Muslim, or Christian are all people! Maybe not just like you and me because our day-to-day lives are so different from theirs, but nonetheless they are people with families, dreams and fears same as the average American. Armed with this knowledge you will be better equipped to make informed decisions now and in the future when participating in our democracy by voting, paying taxes or protesting.
On a completely un-related note, I was really sick for the last week and I still had to go to work everyday! That's when I knew (at least on paper) that I was an adult. No sick days - can you imagine?
Today was the first day I've felt like myself in a while and it made me realize how out of it I had been. And I was really grumpy (understandably so) all week as well.
Not today though - I was back to me and I love it! Without our health, we have nothing. So eat right, get lots of sleep and don't get too stressed over life (stress makes you sick) because you need to be healthy and happy.....trust me I know about these things. Favorite quote comes from George Orwell; "Life is too important to be taken seriously." It's basically my mantra.
To all of you who have written responses, thanks for participating! Sorry I couldn't answer all of them. Keep watching "Passions" and thanks for all of your support! I love you guys too!
Adios partners,
Mark
